My name is Bonnie, and I am a proud native of Colorado, currently living in Parker, CO, with my stepson. For years, I dreamed of opening a bakery and often shared this vision with my husband, who always encouraged me to take the leap. However, my focus on a 30-year career in healthcare kept me from pursuing this dream—until life took an unexpected turn.

In 2022, my husband passed away unexpectedly, a loss that profoundly changed my perspective. His words—"You only live once, so do what you love"—resonated deeply, inspiring me to follow my heart. With his encouragement in mind, I made the life-changing decision to leave my healthcare career and fully embrace my passion for baking and sugar artistry.

I had the privilege of studying sugar flower artistry under world-renowned cake designer Maggie Austin at her studio in Alexandria, Virginia. Maggie’s exquisite creations, including cakes for royal weddings and White House events, inspired me to bring the same level of artistry and attention to detail to my own work. Learning from her was a transformative experience.

At Petite Petal Cakes, I combine my love of baking with the delicate artistry of handmade sugar flowers to create bespoke cakes that reflect your vision and celebrate life’s most special moments. Each flower I create is a labor of love, not only a reflection of my craft but also a part of my personal healing journey. Knowing that my creations bring joy to others fills my heart and makes this work incredibly meaningful.
